SIUPIK is a digital platform designed to support SMEs in Malang's tourism sector, facilitating the sale of craft products and souvenirs to tourists.

SIUPIK (Sistem Informasi UKM Penyangga Industri Kepariwisataan - Tourism Industry Support System for SMEs) is a 2024 initiative aimed at empowering Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the Malang region operating within the tourism industry. This platform provides a digital space for SME actors to market and sell their flagship products, particularly handicrafts and local souvenirs.

The project focuses on increasing the visibility of Malang's SME products among tourists. With the SIUPIK portal, tourists visiting Malang can easily access and purchase quality local products, thereby supporting the local economy and promoting regional tourism.

The development of SIUPIK is a strategic step to address various challenges faced by tourism SMEs in the digital era, while also leveraging the significant potential of Malang's tourism sector.

Challenge

Prior to SIUPIK, tourism SMEs in Malang faced several significant obstacles. Managing data and information regarding the large number of SME actors and their products was difficult and decentralized. This resulted in a lack of awareness of local SME products among tourists. Furthermore, many SMEs struggled to market and sell their products effectively, especially to the dynamic tourist target market. Limited access to broad and integrated sales platforms hindered their business growth.

Solution

Soulcode developed SIUPIK as a comprehensive solution to address these challenges. We built a digital information system that allows SMEs to manage product inventory, display product catalogs, and process sales transactions efficiently. This platform was developed using Flutter for a responsive and user-friendly interface, Go for a robust and scalable backend, and PostgreSQL as a reliable database. This architecture ensures SIUPIK can handle large volumes of data and provide a smooth user experience. Key features of SIUPIK include an SME directory, interactive product catalog, online ordering and payment system, and integration with local tourism information. We also ensured the platform is easily accessible to tourists via various devices.

Results

With the implementation of SIUPIK, tourism SMEs in Malang now have a centralized platform to market their products, increasing their visibility among tourists. This has led to an increase in sales and revenue for SME actors. Tourists gain easy access to find and purchase Malang's unique crafts and souvenirs, enriching their travel experience. SIUPIK also contributes to more structured and efficient SME management, supporting the sustainable growth of Malang's tourism industry.
